Pay it Forward

What a great way to start the week!

On the way to work this morning I debated with myself, "Do I really need to spend $4 on a cup of coffee? No, you've spent enough money lately on Christmas, etc. But I really NEED Starbucks this morning. What you need is cup of free tea at the office - keep driving."

Not surprisingly I kicked Miserly Me out of the car and drove straight to my local crack house (Starbucks).

As a compromise, I ordered conservatively - Grande Soy Latte. No fancy gingerbread, mocha-mint whatever.

So I get up to the window where James - all the drive-through guys know my voice, and I know them...not a good sign - hands me my drink and says, "This is a gift for you."

In the immortal word of Jon Stewart, "Whaaaa?"

Turns out the guy ahead of me in line gave James $20 and told him to buy everyone's drinks until the money ran out. Merry Christmas!

What a great idea! It's Monday, it's about to start raining again, it's Monday...and this guy buys everybody in line a much-needed cup of Joe.

Now I need to find a way to pay it forward. :: giggle :: How much fun is that?!

What a great gesture on such a dreary day!!! And here I thought I was so nice because I leave the quarter in my buggy at Aldi.

Starbucks...my drug of choice.

I wish I had tried this as a "starter" pay it forward instead of giving away my $45 Tina Turner teeshirt to the waitress at the bar after the concert last month....live and learn. Thought I was being nice. Turns out I had one too many Crown and ginger ale.

AWESOME!

And I'll be sending your cookies tomorrow. :) No leg shaped ones though. Couldn't find a cutter in that shape. :)

That's a really lovely idea - and you got the coffee you wanted. Nice!
