Just a passing thought...

...culled from all the OTHER passing thoughts that accumulate while I'm driving with the idiots in the morning:

After I'm gone, should you EVER have the urge to memorialize/honor/remember me with a sticker on the windshield of a car?

Let it pass. If you don't, I will SO come back and haunt your ass to hell.

I'm just sayin'.

Should this ever come to pass, dear friend, I will honor you like I do so many others - from the bowels of my liquor cabinet! Just name your poison, and I will make sure it gets done....EFH

Thank you! Those damn memorial decals creep me the hell out. And they seem to be a phenom local to the Shoals - I just don't see them in Athens or Hsv.

EFH - Amen, brother. Amen.

Ain't it the truth? Unfortunately, one can almost know a person's whole life from the crap they put on their windows! Where they have been...how many kids they have...what their interests are...what they support...who died. Please!

Amen sister! And if I'm killed in a car crash and someone puts up a cross at the spot where I met my demise I will equally haunt your ass to Hell!

LOL...That is SUCH a Southern thing, kinda like the roadside memorials that people put up where fatal traffic accidents have happened.
The little roadside memorials always look so sad when people eventually forget to go back and replace the plastic flowers, the white crosses get dirty and the "We Love You Granddaddy" banner starts to get ragged and faded.

Neither of those phenomenon are exclusive to the south, or if it is, those same idiots migrated. The roadside memorials and the back window memorials are huge around here and I hope I never mean either so little or so much to someone that they feel the need to tell the whole world when and how I died. If everyone forgets that I existed after I die, that would be just fine too. I won't be here and I won't care.

Maybe it's a rural thing rather than a Southern thing?

Both of these are common in Upstate New York. I was shocked when I moved south and found that they do it here too, though not nearly as much!z I still think it originated there. Southerners are much too sophisticated for that, unless some dumbass northerner (I came from there so I can say that) convinced them that it was the cool thing to do.
